डमरू वाजवी, तांडव करी, भयाण स्मशानात, शिव शंभो महादेवा.

भस्म लेपूनी अंगाला, व्याघ्रचर्म परिधानी, जटाधारी गंगाधारी, शिव शंभो महादेवा.

तुझ्या दर्शनाने पावन, होती जन्मोजन्मीचे पाप, भवसागरातुन तारा, शिव शंभो महादेवा.

Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
O Shankara, embodiment of compassion, God of gods, Shiva Shambho, Great God.
Verse 2
Dweller of Kailasa, Lord of ghosts and spirits, sustainer of the three worlds, Shiva Shambho, Great God.
Verse 3
Having drunk poison in his throat, he is known as Neelakantha (blue-throated), savior of devotees, Shiva Shambho, Great God.
Verse 4
He plays the damaru, performs the Tandava dance, in the fearful cremation grounds, Shiva Shambho, Great God.
Verse 5
Smearing ash on his body, clad in tiger skin, bearing matted locks and the Ganga, Shiva Shambho, Great God.
Verse 6
By your darshan (sight), sins of many births are purified, deliver us from the ocean of worldly existence, Shiva Shambho, Great God.
