लाय सजीवन लखन जियाए। श्री रघुबीर हरषि उर लाए॥

सहस बदन तुम्हरो जस गावैं। अस कहि श्रीपति कंठ लगावैं॥

सनकादिक ब्रह्मादि मुनीसा। नारद सारद सहित अहीसा॥

जम कुबेर दिगपाल जहाँ ते। कबि कोबिद कहि सके कहाँ ते॥

तुम उपकार सुग्रीवहिं कीन्हा। राम मिलाय राज पद दीन्हा॥

जुग सहस्र जोजन पर भानू। लील्यो ताहि मधुर फल जानू॥

दुर्गम काज जगत के जेते। सुगम अनुग्रह तुम्हरे तेते॥

राम दुआरे तुम रखवारे। होत न आज्ञा बिनु पैसारे॥

सब सुख लहै तुम्हारी सरना। तुम रच्छक काहू को डरना॥

आपन तेज सम्हारो आपै। तीनो लोक हाँक तें काँपै॥

भूत पिसाच निकट नहिं आवै। महाबीर जब नाम सुनावै॥

नासै रोग हरै सब पीरा। जपत निरंतर हनुमत बीरा॥

संकट तें हनुमान छुड़ावै। मन क्रम बचन ध्यान जो लावै॥

सब पर राम तपस्वी राजा। तिन के काज सकल तुम साजा॥

और मनोरथ जो कोई लावै। सोई अमित जीवन फल पावै॥

चारों जुग परताप तुम्हारा। है परसिद्ध जगत उजियारा॥

साधु संत के तुम रखवारे। असुर निकंदन राम दुलारे॥

अष्टसिद्धि नौ निधि के दाता। अस बर दीन जानकी माता॥

राम रसायन तुम्हरे पासा। सदा रहो रघुपति के दासा॥

तुम्हरे भजन राम को पावै। जनम जनम के दुख बिसरावै॥

अंत काल रघुबर पुर जाई। जहाँ जन्म हरिभक्त कहाई॥

संकट कटै मिटै सब पीरा। जो सुमिरै हनुमत बलबीरा॥

Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
Having cleansed the mirror of my mind with the dust of my Guru's lotus feet, I now narrate the sacred glory of Sri Rama, which bestows the four fruits of life (Dharma, Artha, Kama, Moksha).
Verse 2
Knowing myself to be devoid of intelligence, I meditate on you, O Son of Pavan. Grant me strength, wisdom, and knowledge, and remove all my afflictions and impurities.
Verse 3
Victory to Hanuman, ocean of wisdom and virtues. Victory to the Lord of Monkeys, who illuminates the three worlds.
Verse 4
You are Rama's messenger, possessed of immeasurable strength. Son of Anjani, known as 'Son of the Wind'.
Verse 5
O great hero, valiant one, with a body like Vajra (thunderbolt). Remover of evil thoughts, companion of good sense.
Verse 6
Of golden complexion, adorned in beautiful clothes. With earrings in your ears and curly hair.
Verse 7
In your hands shine the mace (Vajra) and banner. A sacred thread (Janeoo) made of Munja grass adorns your shoulder.
Verse 8
An incarnation of Shiva, delight of Kesari. Your valor and glory are revered throughout the world.
Verse 9
Supremely learned, virtuous, and clever. Always eager to perform Lord Rama's tasks.
Verse 10
You delight in listening to the Lord's deeds. Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita reside in your heart.
Verse 11
Assuming a minute form, you appeared before Sita. Taking a colossal form, you burnt Lanka.
Verse 12
Assuming a terrifying form, you slayed the demons. Thus, you accomplished Lord Rama's missions.
Verse 13
You brought the Sanjeevani herb and revived Lakshmana. Lord Rama embraced you joyfully.
Verse 14
Lord Rama praised you highly, saying, 'You are as dear to me as my brother Bharata'.
Verse 15
Even the thousand-mouthed Sheshnaga sings your glories. So saying, Lord Rama clasped you to His bosom.
Verse 16
Sages like Sanaka, Brahma, and other great saints. Narada, Saraswati, along with the king of serpents (Sheshnaga).
Verse 17
Yama, Kubera, and the guardians of the directions. No poet or scholar can describe your complete glory.
Verse 18
You rendered great service to Sugriva. You united him with Rama and helped him regain his kingdom.
Verse 19
Vibhishana heeded your advice. The whole world knows he became the king of Lanka.
Verse 20
Though the Sun is thousands of miles away. You swallowed it, thinking it a sweet fruit.
Verse 21
With Lord Rama's ring in your mouth. You leapt across the ocean; there is no wonder in this.
Verse 22
All the difficult tasks in the world. Become easy by your grace.
Verse 23
You are the guardian at Rama's door. No one can enter without your permission.
Verse 24
All happiness is found in your refuge. When you are the protector, what fear can there be?
Verse 25
Only you can control your own splendor. The three worlds tremble at your roar.
Verse 26
Ghosts and evil spirits do not come near. When the name of Mahaveer (Hanuman) is uttered.
Verse 27
All diseases vanish, all pain ceases. For one who constantly chants the name of brave Hanuman.
Verse 28
Hanuman liberates from all troubles. Those who meditate on him with mind, deeds, and words.
Verse 29
Lord Rama is the ascetic King over all. You accomplished all of His tasks.
Verse 30
And whoever comes to you with any desire. Shall obtain the boundless fruit of life.
Verse 31
Your glory extends through all four ages. Your fame illuminates the entire world.
Verse 32
You are the protector of saints and sages. Destroyer of demons, beloved of Rama.
Verse 33
You are the bestower of eight Siddhis (powers) and nine Nidhis (treasures). This boon was granted to you by Mother Janaki (Sita).
Verse 34
You possess the elixir of Rama's name. Always remaining Lord Rama's devoted servant.
Verse 35
By chanting your name, one reaches Rama. And forgets the sorrows of countless births.
Verse 36
At the moment of death, one goes to Rama's abode. And is known as a devotee of Hari (God) in every subsequent birth.
Verse 37
Without contemplating any other deity. By serving Hanuman, all happiness is attained.
Verse 38
All troubles are cut, all pain is removed. For those who remember the mighty Hanuman.
Verse 39
Hail, hail, hail, Lord Hanuman! Bestow your grace upon me, just like a divine Guru.
Verse 40
Whoever recites this a hundred times. Is freed from bondage and attains great joy.
Verse 41
He who reads this Hanuman Chalisa. Attains success; Shiva (Gaurisa) himself is the witness.
Verse 42
Tulsidas is always a servant of Hari. O Lord, make your abode in my heart.
Verse 43
O Son of Vayu, remover of troubles, embodiment of auspiciousness. Dwell in my heart along with Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita, O King of Gods.
