Verse 1

Om, salutations to Lord Mahadeva. || Dhyanam (Meditation) || I meditate on the Lord, who has thunderbolt-like teeth, a colossal body, adorned with snakes, wearing a rosary of Rudraksha beads, and whose banner bears the emblem of a peacock. || 1 ||

Verse 2

He who creates thunderous roars, causes yawning and paralysis, then induces fascination and wonder, and causes spirits etc. to be stunned and removed. || 2 ||

Verse 3

May Maheswara protect me from all these great afflictions. May Shankara, who protects all beings, protect me. || 3 ||

Verse 4

Towards the north, one faces Brahma in knowledge. There, this mantra is given to the gods by Brahma for the attainment of all perfections. || 4 ||
