Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
I bow to that Vinayaka, who joyfully holds the Modaka in his hand, who always grants liberation, who wears the crescent moon as an ornament, who playfully protects the worlds, who is the sole leader without a master, who destroyed the elephant demon (Gajasura), and who quickly destroys the misfortunes of those who bow to him.
Verse 2
I always seek refuge in that great Vinayaka, who is formidable to those who do not bow to him, who shines like the newly risen sun, who is worshipped by gods and vanquishes demons, who removes the severe distress of his devotees, who is the Lord of gods, the Lord of wealth, the Lord of elephants (Gajasura's destroyer), the Lord of the Ganas, and the Supreme Lord, who is beyond the highest.
Verse 3
I bow to that resplendent Ganesha, whose gentle cheeks glow, whose temples stream with ichor, who wears matted locks, who supports the earth, who has an auspicious elephant face and is imperishable, who is the abode of compassion, forgiveness, and joy, who bestows fame, and who fulfills the desires of those who bow to him.
Verse 4
I always seek refuge in that supreme Lord, who destroys all sins, who is the destroyer of the forest of elephant-demons (Gajasura), who annihilates the elephant-headed demon (Gajasura), who destroys all fears, who is the Lord of Vishnu, who is worshipped by all, the Lord of the people, the Lord of joy, and the great Lord, who is beyond the highest.
Verse 5
I always seek refuge in that supreme Lord, whose beautiful tusk is eternally radiant, who removes the darkness of ignorance in all directions, who destroys internal strife, who dispels distress, who frees from humility, who brings prosperity, and who is the great Lord, beyond the highest.
