Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
O Lord with the curved trunk, gigantic body, and the brilliance of a million suns, please make all my endeavors free of obstacles, always.
Verse 2
I worship day and night, the elephant-faced Lord, who is like the sun to the lotus-face of Parvati, who has many teeth (boons) for devotees, yet possesses a single tusk.
Verse 3
We meditate upon the Lord, who wears white garments, who is all-pervading, whose complexion is like the moon, who has four arms, and whose face is gracious, for the removal of all obstacles.
Verse 4
Salutations to the feet of Vignavinayaka, who has a mouse as his vehicle, holds a modaka in his hand, has ears like a fan, wears the sacred thread, is of short stature (Vamana Rupa), and is the son of Lord Shiva.
Verse 5
I bow to the lotus feet of Lord Vighneshwara (Ganesha), who has an elephant face, is served by the hosts of ganas, partakes of the essence of kapittha and jambu fruits, is the son of Uma (Parvati), and is the cause for the destruction of sorrow.
