Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
I salute Vishnu, who is of a peaceful form, who reclines on the serpent (Shesha), whose navel is a lotus, the Lord of the Suras (deities), the support of the universe, resembling the sky, of cloud-like color, with an auspicious body. He is the consort of Lakshmi, with lotus-like eyes, approachable by yogis through meditation, the remover of the fear of worldly existence, and the sole Lord of all worlds.
Verse 2
Om, I bow down to Lord Vasudeva.
Verse 3
Having bowed to Narayana, and to Nara, the best of men, and to Devi Saraswati, and to Vyasa, one should then proclaim victory (recite the scripture).
Verse 4
The chanting of the names Achyuta, Ananta, Govinda is a medicine. All diseases are destroyed, this I speak truthfully, truthfully.
Verse 5
There is never any inauspiciousness in all undertakings, for those in whose heart resides Lord Hari, the abode of all auspiciousness.
