Verse 1
Even the minds of the wise are forcibly drawn by the Goddess Bhagavati, the Mahamaya, into delusion.
Verse 2
O Durga, when remembered, You remove all fear from every being. When remembered by those who are healthy, You grant a most auspicious intellect. Who else but You, the remover of poverty, sorrow, and fear, always has a compassionate heart for the welfare of all?

O auspiciousness of all auspicious things, O benevolent one, O accomplisher of all objectives, O refuge, O three-eyed one, O Gauri, O Narayani, salutations to You.

O You who are intent on saving the distressed and the afflicted who seek refuge, O Goddess who removes the suffering of all, O Narayani, salutations to You.

O You who are the form of all, O ruler of all, O You who are endowed with all powers, O Goddess, protect us from all fears, O Goddess Durga, salutations to You.
