Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
Bowing my head to the Lord, Gauri's son, Vinayaka, I always remember him, the abode of devotees, for the attainment of long life, desires, and wealth.
Verse 2
First, (I salute) Vakratunda (the one with a twisted trunk); second, Ekadanta (the one with a single tusk); third, Krishnapingaksha (the one with black and brown eyes); fourth, Gajavaktra (the elephant-faced one).
Verse 3
Fifth, Lambodara (the pot-bellied one); sixth, Vikata (the formidable one); seventh, Vighnarajendra (the king of obstacle-removers); and eighth, Dhumravarna (the smoke-colored one).
Verse 4
Ninth, Phalachandra (the one with the moon on his forehead); tenth, Vinayaka (the supreme leader); eleventh, Ganapati (the lord of ganas); and twelfth, Gajanana (the elephant-faced one).
Verse 5
The person who recites these twelve names three times a day, for him there is no fear of obstacles, and all achievements are granted by the Lord.
Verse 6
The seeker of knowledge obtains knowledge; the seeker of wealth obtains wealth; the seeker of sons obtains sons; and the seeker of liberation attains salvation.
Verse 7
One who recites this Ganapati Stotram for six months attains results; within a year, one attains perfection (siddhi), there is no doubt about it.
Verse 8
One who writes this (stotram) and offers it to eight Brahmanas, all knowledge will be his by the grace of Ganesha.
