Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
Bowing my head to Lord Ganesha, the son of Goddess Gauri, who resides in the hearts of devotees, I always remember Him for the attainment of long life, desires, and wealth.
Verse 2
First, I remember Vakratunda (the one with a curved trunk), second, Ekadanta (the one with one tusk), third, Krishnapingaksha (the one with dark reddish-brown eyes), and fourth, Gajavaktra (the elephant-faced one).
Verse 3
Fifth is Lambodara (the one with a pot belly), and sixth is Vikata (the monstrous one). Seventh is Vighnarajendra (the king of obstacles), and eighth is Dhoomravarna (the smoke-colored one).
Verse 4
Ninth is Phalchandra (the one with the moon on his forehead), and tenth is Vinayaka (the supreme leader). Eleventh is Ganapati (the lord of Ganas), and twelfth is Gajanana (the elephant-faced one).
Verse 5
Whoever recites these twelve names three times a day (morning, noon, evening) will never face the fear of obstacles, and all their endeavors will be supremely successful.
Verse 6
A student seeking knowledge attains knowledge; one desiring wealth attains wealth; one desiring children attains children; and one seeking liberation attains salvation.
Verse 7
One who recites this Ganapati Stotram will achieve results within six months, and complete spiritual attainment within a year; there is no doubt about this.
Verse 8
One who writes this Stotram and offers it to eight Brahmins will attain all knowledge by the grace of Ganesha.
Verse 9
Thus, ends the Sankata Nashana Ganesha Stotram from the Narada Purana.
