Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
Bowing my head to the Divine Ganesha, the son of Gauri (Parvati), the remover of obstacles, who resides in the hearts of devotees, I always remember Him for the attainment of long life, desires, and wealth.
Verse 2
First, (I remember Him as) Vakratunda (with a curved trunk), second as Ekadanta (with one tusk), third as Krishna Pingaksha (dark-eyed), and fourth as Gajavaktra (elephant-faced).
Verse 3
Fifth, as Lambodara (pot-bellied), and sixth as Vikata (the formidable one), seventh as Vighnaraja (king of obstacles), and eighth as Dhumravarna (smoke-coloured).
Verse 4
Ninth, as Bhalachandra (with moon on the forehead), and tenth as Vinayaka (the supreme leader), eleventh as Ganapati (lord of ganas), and twelfth as Gajanana (elephant-faced).
Verse 5
The person who recites these twelve names thrice a day (morning, noon, and evening) will never face fear of obstacles, O Lord, and will achieve all accomplishments.
Verse 6
A student attains knowledge, a wealth-seeker attains wealth, a child-seeker attains children, and a salvation-seeker attains liberation.
Verse 7
One who chants this Ganapati Stotram will obtain results within six months. Within a year, one will undoubtedly attain perfection (siddhi).
Verse 8
He who offers this written Stotram to eight Brahmins, by the grace of Ganesha, will attain all knowledge.
