Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
I bow to Vishnu, who is of peaceful appearance, who sleeps on a serpent (Sheshnag), from whose navel sprouts a lotus, the Lord of the gods. He is the support of the universe, pervasive like the sky, with the color of a cloud, and possessing beautiful limbs. He is the consort of Lakshmi, with lotus-like eyes, approachable by yogis through meditation. I bow to Vishnu, the remover of the fear of worldly existence, the one Lord of all worlds.
Verse 2
I bow my head to Lord Vishnu, who is adorned with a conch and discus, wearing a crown and earrings, draped in yellow garments, with lotus-like eyes. He is glorified by garlands and the Kaustubha jewel on His chest, and possesses four arms.
