Verse 1

Once, in a city, there lived a king. He had a son and a daughter-in-law. The king had a habit of observing a fast every morning. He would only eat after bathing in the morning, worshipping Lord Hanuman, and consuming the Prasad (offering).

Verse 2

One day, the king fell ill. Therefore, he could not eat. His daughter-in-law insisted that he eat. But the king said: 'I have not received Lord Hanuman's Prasad today. So, I will not eat.'

Verse 3

The daughter-in-law set out from the house to worship Lord Hanuman. On the way, an old man saw her. The old man blessed her and said: 'May your husband's life be long.'

Verse 4

The daughter-in-law was surprised because her husband had already passed away. She told the old man about her sorrow. The old man comforted her, saying, 'Do not fear, your husband will soon be alive. Worship Lord Hanuman and observe his Vrat.'

Verse 5

The old man continued: 'Observe a fast every Tuesday and worship Lord Hanuman. One day you will see your husband in the form of an ordinary man. Later, your husband will fully regain his health.'

Verse 6

The daughter-in-law returned home happily and began to do as the old man had instructed. Every Tuesday, she worshipped Lord Hanuman and observed the fast. After some time, her husband came back to life and fully regained his health. She thanked Lord Hanuman.

Verse 7

By the grace of Lord Hanuman, they were blessed with a child. They lived happily. Thus, it is believed that those who observe the fast and worship Lord Hanuman will receive all prosperity and blessings.
