વેપારીની પત્નીએ તરત જ ગુરુવારનું વ્રત ફરી શરૂ કર્યું અને પૂરા વિધિ-વિધાનથી ભગવાન વિષ્ણુની પૂજા કરી. તેણે પીળા વસ્ત્રો પહેર્યા, કેળાના વૃક્ષની પૂજા કરી અને પીળી વસ્તુઓનું દાન કર્યું.

In ancient times, in a city, lived a wealthy merchant who was very kind and pious. He lacked nothing in terms of wealth, but he had no children, due to which he and his wife remained very sad.
Verse 2
One Thursday, the merchant's wife decided to observe the Thursday fast. She bathed in the morning, worshipped Lord Vishnu, and observed the fast.
Verse 3
Lord Vishnu was pleased with her devotion and appeared before her. The Lord granted her the boon of having a son and said that her son would be very virtuous and renowned.

After receiving the boon, the merchant's wife became pregnant, and in due course, she gave birth to a beautiful son. The son was named Gurudas.

As time passed, Gurudas grew up, and the merchant married him to a beautiful girl. But after the marriage, the merchant's wife stopped observing the Thursday fast.

Due to abandoning the Thursday fast, Lord Vishnu became angry, and poverty started to enter the merchant's house. Wealth gradually diminished, and the merchant became very sad.

The merchant did not know that all this was happening because of abandoning the Thursday fast. One day, his wife saw Lord Vishnu in a dream, who asked her to resume the fast.

The merchant's wife immediately resumed the Thursday fast and worshipped Lord Vishnu with full rituals. She wore yellow clothes, worshipped the banana tree, and donated yellow items.

In a short time, prosperity returned to the merchant's house. The merchant's business flourished again, and they began to live a life of happiness and peace.

Since then, the Thursday fast became dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and whoever observes this fast with complete devotion receives the grace of Lord Vishnu and all their sorrows are removed.
