ತ್ರಿಗುಣ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಕೀ ಆರತಿ ಜೋ ಕೋಯಿ ನರ ಗಾವೇ | ಕಹತ ಶಿವಾನಂದ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ, ಮನವಾಂಚಿತ ಫಲ ಪಾವೇ || ಓಂ ಜೈ ಶಿವ ಓಂಕಾರ ||

Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
O Lord Shiva, hail to Thee! O Lord, hail to Thee! Brahma, Vishnu, and Sadashiva, with the Goddess (Parvati) as half of His body. Hail to Thee, Lord Shiva!
Verse 2
With one face, four faces, or five faces, He reigns. Adorned with a swan, Garuda, or bull (Nandi) as His vehicle. Hail to Thee, Lord Shiva!
Verse 3
With two arms, four arms, or ten arms, He is exceedingly beautiful. Beholding His form of three Gunas (qualities), the people of the three worlds are enchanted. Hail to Thee, Lord Shiva!
Verse 4
Wearing rosaries, forest garlands, and skull garlands. The moon shines on His forehead, adorned with a matted crown. Hail to Thee, Lord Shiva!
Verse 5
With white garments, yellow garments, or tiger skin on His body. Sanaka and other Gandharvas always accompany Him. Hail to Thee, Lord Shiva!
Verse 6
In His hands, He holds a water pot, chakra, and trident. He is the creator of the world, destroyer, and preserver of the world. Hail to Thee, Lord Shiva!
Verse 7
Brahma, Vishnu, and Sadashiva, though seen as distinct, are one. Within the syllable Om (Pranava), these three are united. Hail to Thee, Lord Shiva!
Verse 8
Whoever sings the Aarti of the Lord of three Gunas (qualities), Swami Shivananda says, they will attain their desired fruits. Hail to Thee, Lord Shiva!
