Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
Om, Hail, O Shiva, the sound of Om, Lord, hail, O Omkara Shiva. You are Brahma, Vishnu, and Sadashiva, embodying the divine feminine (Ardhangini).
Verse 2
You shine with one face, four faces, and five faces. You are seated on a swan, an eagle, and are adorned with a bull (Nandi) as your vehicle.
Verse 3
With two arms, four arms, and ten arms, You appear exceedingly charming. Beholding Your three-qualitied (Sattva, Rajas, Tamas) form, the people of the three worlds are captivated.
Verse 4
White clothes, yellow clothes, and tiger skin adorn Your body. Sages like Sanaka, Garuda, and spiritual beings (Bhootas) are in Your company.
Verse 5
In Your hand, You hold a water pot, a discus, and a trident. You are the giver of happiness, dispeller of sorrow, and sustainer of the world.
Verse 6
Brahma, Vishnu, and Sadashiva, known to the unwise as separate. Within the sacred syllable Om (Pranava), these three are one.
Verse 7
Lakshmi and Savitri, along with Parvati, are with You. Parvati is Your better half, and the waves of Ganga flow from You (Shiva).
Verse 8
Whoever sings this Aarti of the three-qualitied Shiva. Swami Shivanand says, that person attains the desired fruits of their mind.
