Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
I take refuge in Shri Rama's messenger, who is swift as the mind, swift as the wind, who has controlled his senses, is the most intelligent among all learned ones, the son of the Wind-god, and the chief among the monkey army.
Verse 2
By remembering Hanuman, one attains wisdom, strength, fame, courage, fearlessness, freedom from illness, alertness, and eloquence.
Verse 3
I meditate upon the son of the Wind God (Hanuman), whose face is very beautiful and reddish, whose body is as beautiful as a golden mountain, and who resides at the root of the wish-fulfilling tree (Parijata).
Verse 4
Wherever the praises of Lord Rama are sung, there, with head bowed in reverence, with eyes full of tears of devotion, stands Maruthi (Hanuman), the destroyer of demons. I bow down to such a Hanuman.
