अग्नेयां पातु मे रामः नैऋर्त्यां शत्रुसूदनः । वायव्यां वायुपुत्रश्च ईशान्ये च महाद्युतिः ॥

ऊर्ध्वं पातु महाकायः पातालसंस्थं पातु मे । सदा पातु शिरः लंकां भ्रूमध्ये तु महातपः ॥

चक्षुषी अंजना सूनुः श्रोत्रे पातु महाबलः । नासिकां पातु वज्रांगो मुखं पातु महाहनुः ॥

जिह्वां पातु महाधीरं दन्तान् पातु महाबलः । कण्ठं पातु कपिराजश्च बाहू पातु महाभुजः ॥

करौ पातु दशग्रीवः हृदयं पातु मारुतिः । नाभिं पातु महाधीरः कटिं पातु कपिप्रियः ॥

ऊरू पातु महाबाहुः जानुनी पातु मारुतिः । जंघे पातु लंकाध्वीरः पादौ पातु महाबलः ॥

सर्वांगं पातु मे धीरः सर्वतः पातु मारुतिः । इति श्री हनुमान कवचम् संपूर्णम् ॥

Meaning & Translation

Verse 0
Dhyana (Meditation) I bow to the son of the Wind-god, Lord Hanuman, who is the abode of incomparable strength, whose body shines like a golden mountain, who is like a fire to the forest of demons, the foremost among the wise, the repository of all virtues, the lord of monkeys, and the beloved devotee of Lord Rama.
Verse 1
May Maruti protect me from the East, may the son of Vayu protect from the South. May the slayer of demons protect from the West, and may the greatly powerful one protect from the North.
Verse 2
May Lord Rama protect me from the Southeast, may the destroyer of enemies protect from the Southwest. May the son of Vayu protect from the Northwest, and may the greatly radiant one protect from the Northeast.
Verse 3
May the one with a colossal body protect from above, and may the one residing in Patala protect me. May the destroyer of Lanka always protect my head, and may the greatly ascetic one protect my brow.
Verse 4
May Anjana's son protect my eyes, and may the greatly powerful one protect my ears. May the one with a thunderbolt body protect my nose, and may the one with a mighty jaw protect my mouth.
Verse 5
May the greatly valiant one protect my tongue, and may the greatly powerful one protect my teeth. May the king of monkeys protect my throat, and may the one with mighty arms protect my arms.

May the vanquisher of Ravana protect my hands, and may Maruti protect my heart. May the greatly valiant one protect my navel, and may the beloved of monkeys protect my waist.
