Meaning & Translation

Verse 0
With the dust of the lotus feet of Shri Guru, I cleanse the mirror of my mind. I describe the pure glory of Raghuvir (Lord Rama), which bestows the four fruits (Dharma, Artha, Kama, Moksha).
Verse 1
Knowing myself to be devoid of intelligence, I remember you, O Son of the Wind (Hanuman). Grant me strength, wisdom, and knowledge, and remove all my sorrows and impurities.
Verse 2
Victory to Hanuman, ocean of wisdom and virtues. Victory to the Lord of Monkeys, who illuminates the three worlds.
Verse 3
You are the messenger of Rama, possessor of immeasurable strength. Son of Anjani, known as 'Son of the Wind'.
Verse 4
Great Hero, mighty as a thunderbolt, you remove evil intellect and are a companion of good sense.
Verse 5
Of golden complexion, adorned with beautiful attire. With earrings in your ears and curly hair.

In your hands, a mace and a banner shine. A sacred thread of Munja grass adorns your shoulder.

Son of Shiva (or incarnation of Shiva), delight of Kesari. Your splendor and might are revered by the whole world.

You delight in listening to the Lord's deeds. Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita reside in your heart.

You appeared before Sita in a tiny form. You assumed a terrifying form and burnt Lanka.

Assuming a gigantic form, you slew demons. Thus, you accomplished Lord Rama's objectives.

You brought the Sanjeevani herb and revived Lakshmana. Lord Rama embraced you joyfully.

Lord Rama praised you greatly. He said, 'You are as dear to me as my brother Bharata.'

Sages like Sanaka, Brahma, and other great sages. Narada, Saraswati, and Sheshnag (the king of serpents).

Yama (god of death), Kubera (god of wealth), the guardians of the directions. No poet or scholar can describe your full glory.

You did a great service to Sugriva. By uniting him with Rama, you helped him regain his kingdom.

Vibhishana heeded your counsel. He became the king of Lanka, as the whole world knows.

You swallowed the sun, which is thousands of miles away. You considered it a sweet fruit.

With Lord Rama's ring in your mouth. You leapt across the ocean; there is no wonder in this.

All the difficult tasks in the world. Become easy by your grace.

You are the guardian at Rama's door. None can enter without your permission.

All joys are found in your refuge. When you are the protector, what is there to fear?
