महिम्नः पारं ते परमविदुषो यद्यसदृशी स्तुतिर्ब्रह्मादीनामपि तदवसानास्त्वयि गिरः।अथावाच्यः सर्वः स्वमतिपरिणामावधि गृणन् ममाप्येष स्तोत्रे हर निरपवादः परिकरः॥

अतीतः पन्थानं तव च महिमा वाङ्मनसयो- रतद्व्यावृत्तिर्यां चकितमभिधत्ते श्रुतिरपि।स कस्य स्तोतव्यः कतिविधगुणः कस्य विषयः पदे त्वर्वाचीने पतति न मनः कस्य न वचः॥

मधुस्फीता वाचः परमममृतं निर्मितवत- स्तव ब्रह्मन् किं वागपि सुरगुरोर्विस्मयपदम्।मम त्वेतां वाणीं गुणकथनपुण्येन भवतः पुनामीत्यर्थेऽस्मिन् पुरमथन बुद्धिर्व्यवसिता॥

तवैश्वर्यं यत्तज्जगदुदय रक्षा प्रलयकृत् त्रयीवस्तु व्यस्तं तिस्रुषु गुणभिन्नासु तनुषु।अभव्यानामस्मिन् वरद रमणीयामरमणीं विहन्तुं व्यक्तिं व्यसनिन इव मन्येत नृप॥

किममीश स्तोमैर्बहुलतरसी सत्वरचलं न यस्यां संविन्मात्रमपि च गुणः कश्चिदपि ते।तेनाद्यैषा सतां समधिगमहेतोस्तव कृते स्थितस्यास्मिन्नद्वैतभुवनमयं स्वप्रभवनम्॥

द्विधा भिन्नं चैद्यं श्रुतिभिरतमेकं पुरुषम् अद्वैतं ध्यात्वापि त्रिभुवनमहो यत्करुणया।तदेव त्वं शंभो कृतमभयमव्यं निजपदात् यदेतत् तत्त्वे त्वमखिलमवसीशान्यमतिकृतम्॥

बहुप्रकारं सत्वं त्रिभुवनमहो यत्करुणया समभ्यास्ते सर्वे त्रिपुरहरमेकं बहुविधैः।किमज्ञानं तत्र त्रिजगदवनं किं प्रकुर्वते यदेतत् तत्त्वं ते नहि परमतो नास्मि न च ते॥

त्रयीं तिस्रो वृत्तीस्त्रिभुवनमथो त्रीन् सुरगणान् त्रयोऽप्येतान्नित्यं त्रिभिरति दधत् त्वं त्रिनयन।त्रयणामन्तस्तद्गुणगुणतया यत्त्वयि भवं तवैव त्वं शम्भो भवसि भुवनानां भवनम्॥

अकल्पे स्फारेऽनल्पे यदपि दुरितं कर्मफलदं शुचावग्रे तस्मिन् नहि परमतो नास्मि न च ते।यतस्तत्त्वं सत्यं त्वमखिलमनाद्यं सकरुणं न तेनाहं भिन्नस्त्वमसि हि यतोऽद्वैतममलं॥

इमं स्तोत्रं पठति य इदं नित्यं संसदि पुरो नमस्येदेव शंभोः स्तवनमखिलं त्वद्विषयकम्।तदास्ते किं न तेनाशुभमशुभं पातकशतैः स शम्भोः प्रसादं परतरमुपैत्यप्युपलभे॥

Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
O Lord Shiva! If the praises sung by Brahma and other deities, even after knowing you to some extent, are inadequate, then how can my praise be sufficient for your infinite greatness? Yet, every devotee, to the best of their understanding, tries to glorify you. Therefore, O Hara (Shiva), this attempt of mine to compose a hymn in your praise is also not reproachable.
Verse 2
Your glory transcends the paths of speech and mind; even the Vedas declare 'not this, not this' in awe when attempting to describe you. Who can truly praise you? Of what qualities can you be spoken? Of whom can you be the object? Yet, whose mind and words do not fall short when trying to describe your manifest form?
Verse 3
O Brahman! You who brought forth the supremely sweet nectar of the Vedas, is even the speech of Brihaspati (guru of gods) a wonder to you? My mind, O Destroyer of cities (Tripurari), is intent on purifying my own speech by recounting your virtues.
Verse 4
O Giver of boons! Your sovereign power creates, sustains, and dissolves the universe. It is manifested in your three forms (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva), distinct in their qualities (Rajas, Sattva, Tamas), embodying the essence of the three Vedas. For the unworthy, this magnificent yet terrifying manifestation might be deemed an obstruction, like an indulgence for an addicted person.
Verse 5
O Lord! Of what use are countless praises for one whose form is beyond qualities and who is pure consciousness? Yet, for the sake of those devoted, this hymn is composed, revealing the self-luminous and non-dual nature of your omnipresent being in this world.
Verse 6
O Shambhu! Though the Vedas describe the one Supreme Being as both dual and non-dual, the three worlds find refuge in your compassion. You are that fearless, imperishable refuge who protects all beings, even those who do not worship you, O Lord!
Verse 7
O Destroyer of Tripura! All beings in the three worlds, by your grace, manifest in diverse forms. What is ignorance, and what good does it do to protect the three worlds? This is your very essence; there is none superior to you, nor am I separate from you.
Verse 8
O Three-eyed One! You are the support of the three Vedas, the three states (waking, dreaming, deep sleep), the three worlds, and the three gods (Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva). By being the inner essence of their three qualities, you alone, O Shambhu, become the very origin of the worlds.
Verse 9
In this vast and boundless cycle of existence, whatever sins accumulate and bear fruit, in their purest form, there is none superior to you, nor am I separate from you. Because you are the truth, the entire beginningless, compassionate reality. I am not different from you, for you are indeed the stainless non-dual truth.
Verse 10
Whoever recites this hymn daily, bowing before Shambhu, finds all praise related to you. What inauspiciousness or hundreds of sins can then remain for him? He truly obtains the supreme grace of Shambhu.
