ମଙ୍ଗଳବାର ଦିନ ହନୁମାନଙ୍କ ବ୍ରତ ରଖିବା ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଶୁଭ ମନାଯାଏ । ଏହି ବ୍ରତ ରଖିବା ଦ୍ୱାରା ଶ୍ରଦ୍ଧାଳୁମାନଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ କଷ୍ଟ ଦୂର ହୁଏ ଓ ମନସ୍କାମନା ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ହୁଏ ।

ପୁରାଣ କାଳରେ ଜଣେ ଧନୀ ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣ ଏବଂ ତାଙ୍କର ସୁନ୍ଦରୀ ପତ୍ନୀ ଥିଲେ । ସେମାନେ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସୁଖରେ ଜୀବନ ବିତାଉଥିଲେ, କିନ୍ତୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସନ୍ତାନ ସୁଖ ନଥିଲା ।

ଏହି କାରଣରୁ ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣୀ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଦୁଃଖିତ ଥିଲେ ଏବଂ ସେ ସବୁବେଳେ ପ୍ରଭୁ ହନୁମାନଙ୍କୁ ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା କରୁଥିଲେ ।

ଦିନେ ସେ ମଙ୍ଗଳବାର ବ୍ରତ ରଖିବା ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲେ । ସେ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭକ୍ତି ଓ ନିଷ୍ଠା ସହିତ ଏହି ବ୍ରତ ପାଳନ କଲେ ।

ସେ ମଙ୍ଗଳବାର ଦିନ ଉପବାସ ରଖି ସନ୍ଧ୍ୟାରେ ହନୁମାନଙ୍କୁ ପୂଜା କରୁଥିଲେ ଏବଂ ତାଙ୍କ କଥା ଶୁଣୁଥିଲେ ।

ଏହା ଦେଖି ତାଙ୍କର ସ୍ୱାମୀ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଥଟ୍ଟା କଲେ ଏବଂ କହିଲେ, "ତୁମେ ଏହି ବ୍ରତ କାହିଁକି କରୁଛ? ଏଥିରୁ କିଛି ଲାଭ ନାହିଁ।"

କିନ୍ତୁ ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣୀ ନିଜର ଭକ୍ତି ଛାଡି ନଥିଲେ ଏବଂ ସେ ନିୟମିତ ଭାବରେ ବ୍ରତ ପାଳନ କରି ଚାଲିଲେ ।

ତାଙ୍କର ନିଷ୍ଠା ଦେଖି ପ୍ରଭୁ ହନୁମାନ ପ୍ରସନ୍ନ ହେଲେ ଏବଂ ତାଙ୍କୁ ଏକ ପୁତ୍ର ପ୍ରାପ୍ତିର ବରଦାନ ଦେଲେ ।

କିଛି ଦିନ ପରେ ବ୍ରାହ୍ମଣୀ ଏକ ସୁନ୍ଦର ପୁତ୍ର ସନ୍ତାନ ଜନ୍ମ ଦେଲେ । ସେମାନେ ଅତ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଖୁସି ହେଲେ ।

ଏହିପରି, ଯେଉଁମାନେ ସଚ୍ଚା ମନରେ ଏବଂ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭକ୍ତି ସହିତ ହନୁମାନ ବ୍ରତ ପାଳନ କରନ୍ତି, ସେମାନଙ୍କର ସମସ୍ତ ଇଚ୍ଛା ପୂରଣ ହୁଏ ।

Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
Observing a fast for Hanuman on Tuesday is considered highly auspicious. By keeping this vrat, all the devotees' troubles are removed, and their wishes are fulfilled.
Verse 2
In ancient times, there lived a rich Brahmin and his beautiful wife. They lived a very happy life, but they were not blessed with the joy of children.
Verse 3
Because of this, the Brahmin's wife was extremely sad and she always prayed to Lord Hanuman.
Verse 4
One day, she started observing the Tuesday fast. She observed this fast with complete devotion and sincerity.
Verse 5
On Tuesdays, she would fast and in the evening, she would worship Hanuman and listen to his story.
Verse 6
Seeing this, her husband mocked her and said, "Why are you doing this fast? There is no benefit from it."
Verse 7
But the Brahmin's wife did not give up her devotion and continued to observe the fast regularly.
Verse 8
Seeing her sincerity, Lord Hanuman was pleased and blessed her with the boon of a son.
Verse 9
After some days, the Brahmin's wife gave birth to a beautiful son. They became extremely happy.

In this way, all the wishes of those who observe Hanuman Vrat with a true heart and complete devotion are fulfilled.
