Meaning & Translation

Verse 1
O Lord Jagannath, who is like a mighty, intoxicated elephant from the blue mountain (Nilachal), just as an elephant uproots lotus forests, please uproot the lotus-like obstacles of my worldly attachments and ego from the lake of my heart, which prevent me from reaching You.
Verse 2
Just as the elephant king (Gajendra) was worried in the deep waters, thinking how he, an animal, could receive Your grace, and You immediately arrived with Your discus (Chakra) to destroy the crocodile and save him; similarly, I am worried about my low birth and circumstances. O Lord, when will You similarly come and save me?
